The Hour

With great anticipation I made a fresh cup of coffee, turned off the radio, put my computer into sleep mode and fired up the PVR.... to watch George S. ask Jennie McAlpine about Britney Spears. I honestly thought I was going to find out more about the show or Jennie herself.

Silly me.

Pooh.

Yes, he did. And it's too bad because she seems like a really fun interview.

I saw the interview, they talked about the show just a wee bit and talked about the gossip in the British press (there was word that six of the younger cast members wanted more money - but it was all rumour according to Jenny). Other than that, it was kinda flat.

Interestingly, during the Jonny Briggs affair, as I like to call it, the producers insisted that George LOVED Coronation Street and is a total fan of the show. However, last night, he said that he doesn't watch it.

I noticed that as well during L'Affaire Briggs. Also, Corrie fans got kind of lumped in with the monarchists, which I think was a little bit of a generalisation.

The interview was ok in as much as McAlpine comes off as a nice, funny person but it seemed Strombo wasn't sure who she was, which is sort of understandable. In my college radio days, I interviewed artists after taking a crash course in their music and biographies. Sometimes, they were complete strangers to me.

I watched the interview last night and was very disappointed. I thought George did such a fabulous job with Johnny, so was expecting something similar. I would have preferred to find out more about Jennie and the Street.

Ya I kind of hate England and the monarchy (sort of but not really). But I love Corrie. Oooh I'm just a conundrum wrapped up in a sudoku.

I think there's a notion at the Ceeb that all Corrie fans are uptight, senior citizen anglophiles, which just isn't the case.

And, Betty, remind me to NEVER READ YOUR BLOG AT WORK AGAIN!

Yeah John, I know what you mean about gobetty's blog - I made the same mistake back on her Feb. 26th entry - holy shit, I'm still shuddering!!!

Damn! I was telling everybody I could think of about Fiz' interview with 'the Strom, and then forgot to watch it myself!

I was disapointed at this interivew...he gave Johnny Briggs more time and he was interviewed in the studio, not at some cheesy magazine store looking at covers...Jenny looks alot slimmer doens't she?

I went to the taping of the show, and I have to admit I was pretty disappointed. I hadn't read Ange's warning that they'd already filmed her segment on Thursday. I brought my mom and everything (she's a huge fan and I really should direct her to this blog)! And yes, I was sort of befuddled that George admitted he hadn't watched the show, when before it was made out as if he was a fan too.

So I have been redeemed, it appears.

Guys, SORRY about the pics, I know, NSFW. I would like to have uploaded them elsewhere and link to them but that's not a feature in blogger. I can't link to the originals and make the story work.

The Cisco Adler balls thing is just a facination with grossness (obvs!) that literally had me laughing for weeks.

The pic of the guy I stole off craigslist (casual encounters - yes I am a fucking perv, I know, the one place on earth everyone uploads pictures of their penises and then ask, hey do you like my cock?). Anywho... long story short, I was CONVINCED it was someone I knew and I kept asking him, is this you? And he wouldn't let me mail the pic to his hotmail so I said fine, I'll stick it on my blog LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS YOU GODDAMNIT!

for all of us pervs...don't remove the photo.

I have no problem with nudity, per se (I just prefer that of the female variety), it's just that my gay boss, walking past my desk, did a quick double take for the split second I had the page open. I fear this may change our working relationship.

I just need to remember to read the blogs of you lot of pervos at home.
