Report of Corrie Demise are GREATLY Exagerrated

So there's a rumour out there that CBC will stop showing Coronation Street this summer.

False! Super False!

My super secret anonymous insider tells me that they've got a contract to show Corrie up to 2008.

PS Thursday update is coming...Glacia just getting through some work right now.

Hadn't heard this rumour, but glad that CBC has a commitment through to at least next year (2020 would be better!). They've already lost the Olympics and Grey Cup. Could lose Hockey Night in Canada. I guess to some this would be great - we could have a continual spate of Anne frickin' Murray specials and reruns of Air Farce....

The hoax described a Canadian version, "Totem Street". Not so unbelievable: Sesame Park was a Canadian version of PBS's Sesame Street with French language lessons and super-earnest muppets.

I know the runours started after CBC dropped EMMERDALE without any warning at all. I am a fan of that show as well, and if it weren't for the Street, I probably wouldn't even give CBC a look in a day, week or year.
I do hope they continue with the Street for as long as it goes and sure wish they would return Emmy

Glad to hear that the contract for Coronation Street is to 2008. The powers that be at the CBC sure did a number on the fans of Emmerdale with a cancellation without warning. Protests to this corporation fall on deaf ears as far as I am concerned.
