a "gay" Fred would be an awesome storyline

I believe that the actor playing Fred is in real life, 'The only gay in the village'.

Thank you for putting that image into my head of Fred Elliot squeezed into one of Dayffd's PVC club boy outfits.

'Bacardi and coke, I say, BACARDI AND COKE, Mafannwy!'

But really, John Savidant? A gay?

I thought John Savident was gay as well, but that might be an urban Corrie legend...

Here is a link to a story I could remember about John Savident being attacked by a young man he met at a gay bar following a charity appearance.

I don't know if he's gay or not, doesn't much matter. Just glad, I say, just glad he survived the attack.

The story, along with the transcript of the 999 call, make it pretty clear that it was a pick-up that went horribly wrong.

It doesn't matter either way if he is gay. I just never would have guessed. I just always assume the actors are playing versions of themselves.

But I'm glad it he survived. I don't know what the street would do without a classic character like Fred Elliot.
