Corrie Sightings

It's always interesting to find Corrie actors in other roles. This clip is from BBC's 'The Royle Family' in which Sally Lindsay (our Shel) plays, well, Shel: a beer swilling, cigarette smoking, 'unfit mother' attending the christening party of her neighbour's baby, David Keanu Ronan Best.

The voice is so nasally and the accent is so different, you'd almost not recognise her. But she's pretty funny in these scenes.

Shades of Cilla or what!
Wouldn't have recognized her as Shelly Unwin.

She looks younger...what year is this from? You need to put on the CC button to understand that heave accent...lol lol!

The christening episode was in 2000. Apparently, Shelley Lindsay started out doing comic roles. It would nice if they brought her back to that.

Also, Kirkeh was in that show from time to time.

Also, Geofforey Hughes who played Eddie Yeats waaaaaaaaaay back in the Stan and Hilda Ogden days.

Apprantly Doreen Keogh was in Corrie as Concepta Regan, but that was before my time.

I keep thinking there was another Corrie person - but can't remember.

Maybe it's a Northern thing? Actors tend to move from show to show and these all take place in the Manchester or Liverpool area. 'The Royle Fanily' also featured the actors who played Jonny and Janet Keogh of 'Two Pints of Lager,' which also featured Bev Callard as one of the character's Liz Macdonald-type mum.

For those of you not familar Geofforey Hughes was the guy in the white/green/yellow jacket. He was also in "Keeping up Appearences".
