Plaza Coronation Street

The cheap, cheerful and decidedly unfashionable Spanish resort of Benidorm is to name a square after the British television soap opera ‘Coronation Street’. The move is part of an attempt to revive the coastal town’s flagging appeal.

A suggestion that the entire resort should be renamed Weatherfield has been dismissed as “ridículo”.

Do you know of any other Coronation Streets? Here in Canada, there’s a Coronation Street in Duncan, British Columbia, a Coronation Street in Regina, Saskatchewan, and a Coronation Street in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

We have Coronation Ave. here in Ottawa. Does that count?

It would be soooo tempting to sneak out late at night and replace "Ave" with "St" on the street sign.
