Corrie 5 Nights a Week

Beginning this Fall, Coronation Street will be on CBC five nights a week.

"And of course they expect Coronation Street. God help you if you don't give it to them.”

5 nights? Between that and the double episodes (which I believe end this month), we might yet get caught up with the show.

I'm new to the show. How long has CBC been behind? And how far behind are they right now, given that the double episodes have been airing for almost 3 months?

We're still a good 8 months behind. What we're watching now aired early September according to www.corrie.net.

I think the double episodes have only be running for a month or so, but I could be wrong.

According to CBC's website, the two episodes per night are only for 10 weeks.....

For 10 weeks, beginning Monday, April 4 at 7 p.m., CBC Television will air two episodes per evening of CORONATION STREET.

I think a long time ago the CBC used to air Corrie within a few weeks of the original British broadcast. But as special programming, etc. kept taking prominence on CBC, the episodes would get postponed and we'd get further and further behind. They seem to be finally making an effort to get (somewhat) caught up.
